Recent Victories

The following are some of Nancy Salomone's recent victories in domestic violence cases:

February 2012:

Nancy obtained complete dismissal of all charges in a Jefferson County domestic violence harassment case by convincing the prosecutor that the alleged victim had greatly exaggerated in her complaints to police.  Nancy persuaded the DA that the "threats" made by her client were within his First Amendment rights to free speech, and that prosecution of his case was barred by the Constitution

April 2011:

Nancy obtained the dismissal of all felony charges in two separate Boulder cases of stalking and restraining order violations.  The resolution of his criminal charges allowed Nancy's client to successfully fight his accusor for custody of their young child.

May 2010:

Nancy obtained complete dismissal of all charges in an Arapahoe County domestic violence case. Nancy argued that the relationship between our client and the alleged victim was not an “intimate relationship” that would qualify for domestic violence treatment. Ultimately, the District Attorney was unable to prove the "intimate relationship" required in domestic violence charges and was forced to dismiss the entire case on the date of trial.

November 2009:

Our client contacted the Firm prior to the filing of formal domestic violence charges in his case. He was being investigated for the offense of felony stalking, but Nancy was able to convince the prosecutor that the case was more appropriate for a misdemeanor charge. We ultimately resolved the case with a probationary period, after which there will be a dismissal of all charges and our client will be able to seal his record to prevent public access to any information about the incident.

July 2009:

Nancy obtained the complete dismissal of a domestic violence case by convincing the District Attorney that the alleged victim had lied in her reports to the police. Although the alleged victim stood behind these statements, Nancy was able to convince the prosecutor that the allegations were not credible and could not be proven in trial.

September 2008:

Nancy completed an exhaustive investigation of the details of a several-year relationship between our client and the alleged victim. We were able to use the results of this investigation to convince the prosecution that our client was in fact the victim, not the perpetrator, in an abusive relationship. All charges against our client were dismissed. The original victim was ultimately charged with a felony for conduct revealed by the Firm's investigation.
